What is the 432 Hz Converter?

The 432 Hz Converter retunes a recording that was mixed or performed against the modern concert pitch of A = 440 Hz so that the same material sits at A = 432 Hz instead. Practically, that means scaling playback by the ratio 432 ÷ 440 ≈ 0.9818 — about 1.8% lower in pitch and slightly longer in duration. Many listeners describe the result as warmer or calmer; whether it “feels better” is subjective. Sound Booster only does the math and the export — we make no health or scientific claims about tuning systems.

Under the hood the tool uses simple resampling (playback-rate change baked into the export). That is the same approach most free online 432 converters use: pitch and tempo move together, which keeps the sound natural without complex time-stretch artefacts. If you need pitch change without tempo change, use the Pitch Shifter with “preserve tempo” instead.

A 528 Hz preset is included for people exploring Solfeggio-style targets (528 ÷ 440 ≈ 1.2). The 440 Hz (original) preset resets the rate to 1× so you can A/B against the source. Everything runs in your browser: load MP3, WAV, FLAC, AAC, M4A or OGG, preview, then download a WAV. Your file never leaves your device.

Use the converter on full songs, stems, ambient beds, or meditation tracks. Pair with Equalizer or Bass Booster if you want tonal shaping after the retune, or with Speed Changer if you need a different tempo after landing on 432.

440 Hz vs 432 Hz

Modern Western instruments and most commercial releases reference A above middle C at 440 Hz. 432 Hz tuning lowers that reference by 8 Hz, shifting every note down by the same ratio. Historically, concert pitch has varied by region and era; 440 Hz became a widespread standard in the 20th century. Choosing 432 Hz today is a creative or personal preference, not a requirement for “correct” music.

Frequently asked questions

How do I convert to 432 Hz?

Load the track, click Convert to 432 Hz, preview, then Download. The rate is set to 432/440.

Does it change the speed?

Yes, slightly — about 1.8% longer for 432 Hz, because resampling moves pitch and tempo together.

What is 528 Hz?

A higher target ratio (528/440). Included as an optional preset only — no special claims.

Is my file uploaded?

No. Conversion and export run entirely in your browser.

Can I keep tempo the same?

This tool links pitch and tempo. For pitch-only changes, use Pitch Shifter with preserve tempo.
