About Us
Sound Booster started from a simple frustration: quiet dialogue in videos, uneven podcasts, and browser tabs that never quite reach a comfortable level. We built a small set of tools so you can raise volume, normalize peaks, and preview the result without installing a heavy desktop editor or uploading private files to a remote server.
What we build
On the website you can boost and normalize audio, work with video sound while watching the picture, try a demo track or clip, and export a louder version when you are ready. Alongside the site we offer a Chrome extension that increases volume for media already playing in your tabs — useful when a lecture, stream, or movie is simply too soft.
More tools are on the roadmap: equalizer, trimmer, converter, and related utilities. The goal is a practical toolkit, not a bloated studio suite.
How we think about privacy
Core processing for the web tools runs in your browser. Files you open for boost or normalize are not sent to our servers for that work. Optional library items live in local browser storage on your device. Analytics (such as Google Analytics and Cloudflare Analytics) help us understand traffic and reliability; they are not used to inspect the contents of your media. Details are in our Privacy Policy.
Who it is for
Creators who need a quick loudness pass before publishing. Students and remote workers listening to soft recordings. Anyone who wants a louder tab without hunting through system settings. If a file fails on an unusual codec, or a site blocks tab audio access, tell us — browser limits vary, and feedback helps us document and improve what we can support.
Why browser-first
Desktop editors are powerful, but most everyday volume fixes do not need a full project timeline. A file opens, you hear the problem, you adjust gain or normalize, and you download the result. Keeping that loop inside the browser means less install friction and a clearer mental model: what you load is what you process, on the machine in front of you.
The Chrome extension follows the same idea for content you are already watching or listening to online. When a tab is too quiet, a quick boost is often enough. We document limits honestly — some sites and codecs behave differently — so you know when the tool can help and when the browser itself is the constraint.
Open, practical, still growing
We keep the product free to use for the main website tools. The extension is listed on the Chrome Web Store so updates and permissions stay transparent. We are not trying to lock your media into an account or a proprietary format.
If something breaks, a format is missing, or you have an idea for the next tool, reach out. Short context — which browser, which tool, what you expected — goes a long way.
